A Mountain Community is Born:
First Release of Alpine Home Sites

Pause for a moment and close your eyes. Now imagine stepping out of your alpine home to breathe in crisp, clean air while being greeted by the majestic views of surrounding mountains, an alpine lake, and the valley below. This unspoiled wilderness landscape will cleanse your mind and revitalize your spirit, leaving you with the inner feeling that this is exactly where you’re meant to be.

Our first release of alpine home sites is imminent, and will include 37 pristine sites. With sunlight pouring in from dawn to dusk, and every aspect of this development focused on maintaining the mountain wilderness, capturing the dream of living amongst an untouched alpine paradise is now within reach.

These fully serviced, expansive home sites were created with a view to preserving the true essence of nature’s abiding presence, and range in size from 8,500 to 20,000 square feet. Each lot will offer panoramic views and the true ski-in ski-out access others only claim to have. Registered design guidelines are in place to direct the architectural style and theme of this residential development on the mountain.

Skiing and snowboarding on the expanding Hudson Bay Mountain, world-class fishing and hunting, and endless opportunities for biking and hiking through the untouched wilderness that surrounds Smithers is just the beginning for this four-season playground. But don’t take our word for it - visit our Presentation Centre when doors open towards the end of November to early December.

Priced from just $137,900,
these alpine home sites won’t last.

Trail to Town: A Dream Becomes Reality

Thanks to the generous support of Smithers’ two Rotary Clubs, which raised the money and cleared the bottom 2.9 km of the trail, the dream of one long run to connect the mountain to the town is now a reality. This stretch of the “Trail to Town”, called the Rotary Community Trail, is complemented by a 25-30 vehicle parking lot at the bottom of the trail.

Not only does this trail elevate Hudson Bay Mountain to the ranks of the select few ski hills in North America where a skier or snowboarder can ski from a mountain top down a continuous run to the town at the base of the mountain, it also gives it more than a 3,700 foot vertical drop. The “Trail to Town” now positions Hudson Bay Mountain among the top five longest run mountains in BC!

BC’s Best-Kept Secret

“Smithers is one of British Columbia’s best-kept secrets in tourism,” said B.C.’s Minister of Tourism, Culture and the Arts, Bill Bennett at the official ribbon cutting ceremony for the “Trail to Town”. With the development of the mountain ski area, the planned expansion of the Smithers airport, stunning natural beauty, and world class recreational opportunities, Bulkley Valley’s future is brighter than ever. The benefits of these developments will be felt throughout the local economy as serious skiers and snowboarders from around the province, country, and the world are attracted to this unbelievable four-season paradise.
